Sample Itinerary

Takstang Monastery

As soon as you arrive on Day 1 at Paro International Airport, you'll be greeted by a welcome team who will escort you to your tranquil retreat center or luxury spa resort. A warm welcome ceremony awaits you, featuring traditional Bhutanese rituals and blessings that will set the tone for your journey ahead. End the day with a calming meditation session and orientation to the tour.

Day 2 will get you exploring Paro's spiritual sites, starting with a morning hike to the iconic Takstang Monastery, famously known as Tiger's Nest. Once you trek to the peak of the cliffside, recover with a meditation session amidst the tranquility of this sacred site, followed by a scenic picnic lunch overlooking the breathtaking views. Next, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and holiest temples, for moments of prayer and contemplation. Then enjoy an evening of relaxation at the resort's spa and experience traditional Bhutanese wellness treatments that will rejuvenate both body and spirit.

Thimphu

Start Day 3 with a scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. When you arrive, visit the majestic Tashichho Dzong, a fortress-monastery that houses government offices and sacred temples. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Thimphu's local markets, where you can explore an array of spiritual artifacts and handicrafts. In the evening, join a meditation session or Dharma talk led by a Buddhist master. Retire for the night at a luxurious hotel, complete with wellness amenities to ensure a restful stay.

 

The focus of Day 4 will include spiritual teachings and wellness workshops, beginning with a morning visit to the National Institute for Zorig Chusum (Arts and Crafts School), where you can get in touch with your creative side and connect with Bhutan's rich artistic heritage with a traditional painting or sculpture workshop. On Day 5, you will be traveling to Punakha, Bhutan's ancient capital that is surrounded by pristine wilderness. Start your exploration of Punakha by paying homage to the sacred Punakha Dzong, a sanctuary that is situated at the confluence of two rivers, then enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the beauty of the Punakha Valley. Take a rejuvenating nature walk along the banks of the Mo Chhu River, which offer a serene space for meditation and mindfulness. As the day draws to a close, engage in an evening yoga session against the serenity of Punakha.

Continue your wellness retreat in Punakha on Day 6 with a morning yoga and meditation session overlooking lush rice fields and majestic mountains. Seek blessings at the revered Chimi Lhakhang fertility temple before indulging in a blissful hot stone bath therapy at a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse.
